Brigstock Horse Trials cancelled following new Estate ownership

britisheventing-brigstock2rigstock International Horse Trials will sadly no longer be running due to the sale of the host property at Fermyn Woods Hall. The present landowners and horse trials organisers, David and Mary Laing will shortly be moving, after nine years at Fermyn Woods Hall.

The Laings re-established the Brigstock Horse trials after it had been dormant for seven years and it has now run for six successful years in the beautiful historic park that surrounds Fermyn Woods Hall.

David Laing commented: “Brigstock has enjoyed great support from an amazing group of volunteers who, with the organising team, and of course the strong entry lists of riders have contributed to the events success.” He added: “We will be staying in the area, where we have developed many good friendships. We are very grateful to British Eventing and the whole team for such strong support over the years.”

In the meantime we are extremely grateful to Tina Ure the organiser of Little Downham Horse Trials (Ely, Cambridge) for agreeing to move their event forward from June to run in place of Brigstock  this year (18-20 May 2012). This will provide the opportunity for the members to compete at a location in close proximity to Brigstock at this important fixture in the early season. Further details are available at online fixtures and results pages at www.britisheventing.com

British Eventing would like to thank the Laing family for their contribution to our sport over the past six years and we hope that we will have the opportunity to work together again. In the meantime we wish the Laings the best of luck for the future.
